It’s good to talk — it helps us to organize our own thoughts, and assuming the person you are talking to you is willing to listen, willing to at least pretend to care about you, and willing to offer solutions when asked (rather than unsolicited advice, which can often come across as unempathetic and frustrating) it can also help us to feel better about whatever topic we feel the need to talk about.
