The Problem with (most) Motivational Literature

The problem with most motivational literature is that one needs to be motivated to actually apply any of it. On the other hand, if enough of it is read while motivated, it is possible to become desensitized enough to it that when it’s actually needed, it becomes profoundly useless — or even, in some cases, actively demotivating, given an already fairly profound motivational deficit.
